Welcome to follow the EthCo project!

Future health professionals need skills to foster an ethically safe atmosphere for both the patient and staff. The idea of this international educational ethics project developed over two years of careful deliberation and collaborative discussions with international partners, led by Turku University of Applied Sciences.  In 2022, we finally succeeded in getting funding for the EthCo project which will develop an educational tool to promote ethical safety in future health care work environments and strengthen the ethical competence of health professionals. The EthCo project, in co-operation with five European countries Finland, Sweden, Spain, Malta and Latvia is funded by EU Erasmus+.

The project kicked off in a virtual environment in October 22, with several collaborative meetings and insightful discussions with all consortium members. The team finally met face to face for a Kick Off meeting during snowy sub-zero weather in November 21-22 at Turku! We had productive two days, filled with open discussions about project objectives, outlines and excellent team building. The EthCo team had the opportunity to get to know each other better and build a strong foundation to start the project as a cohesive team.

This online portal of the EthCo project and the frequently published blog posts introduce you this ethics project, the development process of the educational interventions, as well as the EthCo Tool – a virtual handbook for project contents. We will also share our experiences on working in an international team. You are warmly welcome to join and follow our journey!
